Remote Polynesian Tattoo Design
The IslandTAT Method begins with your story and takes shape freehand on your body. Working directly on the skin allows us to compose the design around your muscle structure, proportions, and natural movement. For that reason, we recommend visiting our San Diego studio whenever possible.
If traveling to San Diego is not possible, remote design offers another way to have your story developed into a tattoo by IslandTAT. Your local tattoo artist may need to adjust the finished design to fit your body before tattooing.
What to send
- The story, people, values, or milestones you want represented.
- The body area and approximate coverage.
- Clear photos of the area, including existing tattoos, and approximate measurements when available.
Photos and measurements are not required to begin the inquiry.
How it works
- 1.Send your story and placement details.
- 2.IslandTAT reviews the request and confirms the scope and price of your design.
- 3.Once the project is agreed, IslandTAT sends you an available design appointment date.
- 4.When you accept the date, a $200 deposit is required to reserve it. Your date is confirmed and booked once the deposit is paid.
- 5.The remaining design balance must be paid in full before the start of the morning of your design day. If payment isn't complete by then, work on the design won't begin.
- 6.On your design day, the artist works on your design all day and sends the finished artwork, with its meanings, by the end of the work day.

Remote design is priced separately from studio tattoo rates, and nothing is paid when you submit a request. We’ll review your request and confirm the scope, price, timing and next steps with you. If a video consultation would help, we’ll discuss the options and any fee before scheduling.
