    Project Objective

Composed freehand by Joshawa — back pieces

    Composition & Anatomical Flow

A back piece is composed around the spine as the central axis. The shoulder blades and lat lines set the outer boundaries, larger elements are placed where the surface is flattest and most visible, and banding is spaced to stay readable across the widest part of the back.

    The Freehand Method

Every tattoo at IslandTAT is designed freehand on the body — no stencils, no transfers. This body-flow design approach ensures the composition follows natural muscle contours and bone structure, producing work that looks powerful from every angle. The result is a tattoo that belongs to the wearer's body, not just sits on it. This piece was composed by Joshawa Elsas.
